Formula One Rights Secured By Sky

The exclusive rights of Formula One Racing 2019 have been secured by Sky. It will be the first time that the races will be made exclusively available to pay TV subscribers. Sky has the credit of broadcasting 21 grand Prix live, and Channel 4 has also claimed the rights to show ten races every year after signing a three-year deal that is worth £35m per year. With the BBC exit, Channel 4 picked up the rights. The new rights for Sky will hold well till the year 2024. The British Grand Prix will be telecasted on a free-to-air Sky Channel.

Champions League Format To Undergo A Revamp Informs UEFA

A major revamp is expected in the Champions League. The group stage may be cut down to 16 teams, to accommodate smaller teams in the group phase. UEFA has taken this decision to drive of the concern that continental clubs are being left out of the huge presence Premier Leagues. The group stage will be split into two mini super leagues. The changes will be announced in the next season before the sale process is initiated for commercial deals. The Champions League is a three-year contract, and the changes can be implemented only after 2017-18. Meanwhile, UEFA spokesperson affirmed that it is in contact with the stakeholder on football related matters.
