Tour de Yorkshire will be the most watched out event his year in the women’s calendar with the first prize for a single day event surpassing the men’s winnings for three-day racing that will happen during the same weekend. The first prize for women’s event will be €20,000 (£15,628). This was made possible by the sponsors Asa, a leading supermarket chain that signed a three-year contract to sponsor Tourmakers. Yorkshire was the first to host the tour in the year 2014. On April 30, 2016, Saturday, the women’s cycling event will be kickstarted covering a distance of 135km spread over 3 ½ hours from Otley to Doncaster. The event will be telecast live.
